Monday, July 31st, 2006Mel Gibson’s Tirade
Monday, July 31st, 2006This is not something I would commonly comment on, but what could Mr Gibson be thinking? He is a brilliant actor, amazing director, and apparently can string words together so well that screenwriters in Hollywood need to be fearful of losing their jobs…
The source can be found at www.nydailynews.com.
Gibson failed both alcohol breath and field sobriety tests, deputies
said. His blood-alcohol level was .12, Deputy Anthony Moore said. The
Legal limit is .08 in California.According to the incident report obtained by TMZ.com, the Road Warrior
embarked on a belligerent, anti-Semitic outburst when he realized he
had been busted.“F—–g Jews. The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world,†Mee’s report quotes him as saying.
“Are you a Jew?†Gibson asked the deputy, according to the report.
The actor also berated the deputy, threatening, “You motherf—-r. I’m going to f— you,†according to Mee’s report.
The actor also told the cop he “owns Malibu†and would spend all his money “to get even with me,†Mee said in his report.
TMZ quoted a law enforcement source as saying Gibson noticed a female
sergeant on the scene and yelled at her, “What do you think you’re
looking at, sugar t–s?â€Deputy Mee then wrote an eight-page report detailing of the incident,
but higher-ups in the sheriff’s department felt it was too
“inflammatory†to release and would merely serve to incite “Jewish
hatred,†TMZ said.
Enough said…

Web Browser News
Monday, July 31st, 2006Internet Explorer, Opera, and my favorite, Firefox are the three contenders in this key race of browsers. It is well noted aroung the web that Firefox is increasing share of the browser market at an alarming pace. Well, alarming if your paycheck comes from Microsoft, but relieving if you are one of the millions of users that run it.
Microsoft has definately taken note. Onestat.com released figures about 2 weeks ago that showed Firefox rising nearly 13% globaly, 16% in the US, and 39% in Germany. What does Microsoft do? Hasten the launch of their new browsing utility, IE 7. Not only that, but the Microsoft application will be taking pages out of the Mozilla handbook such as tabbed browsing, security, and anti-phishing technology.
More yet, realizing that their software is dominant in the world, Microsoft is forcing users to download the application thanks to the automatic security update feature. Microsoft legitimizes that download due to the holes that were left unpatched in the IE6 release.
ZDnet also said that Opera (a good browser in its own right) will be releasing its 10th version relatively soon. Their goal, to make the browser functional on any device, portable or fixed.
What can I say? Good luck Microsoft, the road is long indeed. There is no chance to recapture share in the browser market. Not with as many dedicated Mozilla users as there are. Firefox faithful, the IT community that commonly fixes other peoples computers are pushing the open source browser. What more could you ask for from a volunteer sales team.

Skype is an amazing application. Free pc to pc calling, minimal cost for pc to landline anywhere in the country. I personally like the chat feature, which is just like any other Instant Message client but has a little added functionality. Try it out, let me know what you think. These toolbars just make it much more convenient to use the service. They also solidify Skype in the VOIP world.
