– Update: My domaining book/eBook has been released. Check out “The Art of Domaining: A Comprehensive Guide for Domainers” today! –
I wanted to take a minute and write the first entry in a week long post series about domainers, namely the art of domaining. There will be 5 posts outlining what it takes to be a professional domainer, either as a hobby or a profession. It will also detail the subsequent money involved, both spent money and earned money.
As previously mentioned, domaining is an art. This first entry is going to detail what you need to do to get your feet wet by utilizing domains that you already own.
On a personal note, I purchase all of my domain names at 1&1.com. That is why I have the affiliate banner on the right. I have tried out many of the registrars on the internet and they are by far the cheapest and most capable. As far as parking services, I use Namedrive. Their PPC click method far surpasses any other parking company. I made 3000% more at namedrive than any other aggregator the first month I was there and they also offer selling tools as well.
Now, as bloggers (or anyone else for that matter), you probably own more than just the domain name that you are operating under right now. Why not make money off of them. Namedrive.com lets you add the domains, optimize then as far as ad content, color, appearence, and so forth. Then, when a user types your domain name into the url bar or finds you in a search, they are greeted by very specific, ppc ads that you get paid for when they click them.
Here are the steps if you already own domain names:
- Click on any of the links in this text or on the banner above to get you to Namedrive.
- Start an account, its free.
- Create a portfolio and add your domains.
- Optimize your domains as far as color and content.
- Go to your registrar and point or forward the domains that you currently own on to the namedrive server.
- Test your domains to make sure that they work.
- Check in on your portfolios and watch the the domains make money.
- As an added bonus, you can sell the domain names too. If you can find an end user, you stand to profit in a huge way!!!
If there are any questions at all, please comment or email me. I will be sure to get back to you. After all, this is the future in real estate!
The next post will detail what it takes to buy domain names in order to profit; what to look for, what to buy, where to buy. I will be writing it first thing tomorrow, so subscribe to the feeds or bookmark the site. You won’t want to miss it
