Skype Toolbars for Microsoft and Mozilla

Posted by: Jason Drohn In: technology

Skype, the popular broadband voip application, has just launched a list of toolbars that coincide with Microsoft Office. These new toolbars are for Office apps, Outlook Express, and Mozilla Thinderbird. Skype also upgraded three existing toolbars to incorporate the voip services for Internet Explorer and Firefox.

“Extending Skype functionality into popular computer
applications brings simple communication and collaboration to our customers,”
said Peter Kalmstram, Toolbars Product Manager for Skype. “With our new
toolbars, a Skype user can instantly connect with the desired party with just
one click, making Internet calling extremely convenient.”

Skype is an amazing application. Free pc to pc calling, minimal cost for pc to landline anywhere in the country. I personally like the chat feature, which is just like any other Instant Message client but has a little added functionality. Try it out, let me know what you think. These toolbars just make it much more convenient to use the service. They also solidify Skype in the VOIP world.
