Google appears to be launching its own affiliate marketing network where publishers are paid following an action, not just a click. In other words, if you are displaying a product, then a customer clicks on your ad and makes a purchase or requests further information, you get a paid.
As reported, Google has invited a number of web site owners to take part in the pilot program. The new CPA, or cost per action program, is not a replacement for Adsense, but will run in parallel being referred to as the Content Referral Network.
What does this mean for you?
Well, you will have greater control over what ads are placed on your site. On some of my other sites, I have seen Google ads that display competing consulting agencies, etc. I know I can go in and tell Adsense not to display them, buy how many consulting agencies are there? To many for me to block, thats for sure..
Publishers will also be allowed to promote the ads, unlike those currently using Adsense. Under the current terms and conditions, you can not say “click here,” but with the new affiliate program, you are allowed to do a review and recommend the product.
Basically, this is an additional way for Google to battle click fraud. In order to get paid using the affiliate program, an action has to be taken by the user. Google just settled a click fraud case of $90 million and is looking for alternatives. Understandably so..
What are your thoughts on affiliate programs? I, personally, have had very little success but I am sure that there are a lot of people who use it as a main form of income. What do you think about the Google alternative?

Yeah, This new CPA advertising might work well for AdSense, but not for publisher. What do you say ?
Can anyone recommend me affiliate programs where you can use text links?
I need to know of all the affiliate programs out there where you can use text links and that pay per click.
thanks in advance….
Hey Jayson! I have heard that Kontera and Intellitxt are pretty good. As far as PPC, adsense works well for me, and some publishers are finding ypn and msn quite beneficial as well.
I have checked out a few of your posts and found some great information, just wanted to say thanks there is so much garbage out there, it’s nice to know some people still put time into managing there sites.
Acquiring the right mindset is the most essential requisite for success online and oftentimes the most neglected. In the world of affiliate marketing this area is usually left up to each person to take care.
Hi, there. I would suggest you continue writing more posts, this would make your blog even more interesting, plus I guess you will get more visitors.
