Business 2.0 Blog Network

by Jason Drohn

business 2.0 beta - blog networkIf any of you are familiar with Business 2.0, I am sure you have come to appreciate it.  I was an initial subscriber and have truly profited from some of their information (yes, as in real money!).  They offer a pretty unbiased view and do a very good job of keeping you informed of the up and coming technologies.  Well, the things you should pay attention to at least..

Business 2.0 ran a very successful blog, but has just announced that they are expanding that into a blog network of 16 staff members, including reporters, editors, and the art and photography director.  Some of the topics which will be covered are gadgets, startups, technology, marketing, and business.

The reason for the change is interesting though.  Here is what they have to say:

“Why are we doing this?  Primarily because we think blogging will make us better journalists.  Blogging about a subject on a daily basis is a great way to become an expert on that subject and stay in front of the news in that particular niche.  It’s also a great way for journalists like us who work at a monthly magazine to engage in a more immediate conversation with our readers.”

It is a very interesting twist on blogging versus journalism.  With so much hype about blogging killing traditional print and the reverse, it is nice to see a magazine embrace the blogging community.
