Start Yesterday And Make Mistakes

We have an acronym in the MIS lab at school, EPST.  Basically, what this represents is the answer for every excuse you could come up with as to why your project wasn’t done on time.  The acronym, Earliest Possible Start Time.

Seth Godin wrote an interesting post today regarding, “When to start.”  To sum it up, he makes a point of saying that there truly is no best time.  There is not one specific moment that is the best to start a business, do the marketing, form a plan, etc.  All you can do is prepare yourself, do your homework, and try your best!

In the sense of Earliest Possible Start Time though, get something going.  Make mistakes early.  Learn everything you can along the way.  You didn’t screw something up 100 times, you just discovered 100 ways how not to do something!
