Google Video Tests Revenue Sharing

by Jason Drohn

google video revenue sharingAnother development from PubCon, Google is apparently working on a revenue sharing model that will allow users (bloggers) who embed video in their sites to earn a percentage of any ads that are shown before or during the video.  In other words, if you embed a Google video (or a Youtube video) you will make a bit of money everytime it is viewed.

This could be a pretty good play on some of the other business models out there, such as Revver.com and Brightcove.com.

It will be interesting to see if bloggers can actually make any money doing this.  Honestly, reading these entries was the first time I had seen this option, but it makes sense.  With the dawn of interactive media and advertising in everything, there needs to be a way to spread the wealth in order to generate any sort of appeal!
