Here is the video version of the presentation I put on at C-Cue.
As I mentioned before, I was originally going to design an application the you could use on your cell phone to intertwine the camera, audio, and text. Making it perfect for mobile blogging. But as I started to research that, it involoved a lot of java.
So instead, I designed a post incident response application that will be ported over the a mobile version.
Anyway, check out the video.. I am not much of a presenter, but I try. A year ago, I couldn’t talk in front of anyone!
All things in time..

Man, I am really starting to realize how hard you work and how much knowledge you have. This video is great! We have talked off and on for almost a year now and I guess I would have to say that the podcast that you released yesterday morning is what has totally captured my attention back to the site. Additionally, seeing videos like this one are great too. My biggest problem as a blogger myself, is the fact that it is difficult for me to invest the time into reading everyone else’s blog.
Think about it… if you were to dedicate all the time in a day into reading, you wouldn’t get anything done. I have literally hundreds of sites I would love to read on a daily basis… yours is one. Do I read your site daily? NO! Why… because I simply don’t have time!
And that is where the podcast and in this example, the video kick in…
I didn’t watch the entire video (I did watch most). I couldn’t… I needed to continue plugging away at what I was doing… but I was able to minimize this page and listen to your presentation which was just as well.
I might be a day late and a dollar short, you could very well have been doing this for awhile… if so, then I just caught on. Regardless though, these videos and podcasts and email notifications of these new posts just like I had yesterday is the way to go. I can listen instead of read what you want to communicate to me… and that is what will keep me as a daily reader/listener/watcher/student of JDsBlog.com.
Excellent, excellent work!
Can you forward me a small graphic to use for my site. I want to link to JDsBlog from my home page. 120×60 would be ideal.
Garry
Garry, thank you for your kind words all over. On your site, which I saw but didn’t have time to comment, on Kyle’s, and here.
I totally understand how you feel about keeping up. As I go throughout the day, I see my feedreader pile up (600 then 700 then 800 new posts). It is insane. I do the best I can, but I know what you are saying.
I have succumbed to the blogging masses and stopped commenting as much because of time constraints, which is my #1 priority to correct (because that is the heart and soul of blogging).
In making that my number one priority, I have decided to do more quality posts, 1 or so per day.. easy to read.. More podcasts.. More video presentations.. Stuff like that.
My New Year’s resolution was to dedicate less time with breaking content and more time with good content. At risk of Alexa and page rank. Traffic has actually gone up, and the people that do come are fantastic.
Blogging is amazing.. And it is because of good friends and great conversations..
PS Garry. I am finishing a book on blogging. It’s getting shipped away to the publishers at the end of the week, so we will see how it goes. I will send you a complimentary copy when I get ‘em..
Wow… I would love a copy of the book that is way cool! I am totally excited about it and look forward to reading it. I am also excited to hear that you will be posting more unique Jason written content compared to breaking news content… don’t get me wrong, both are good… But I come here to pick your brain, and not really get news. I enjoy your writing, I can see your level of intelligence and that is why I read what you write. And podcasting seems to be way cool because I can maintain my business blogging life and still listen to what you want to say to the masses in the blogosphere. I want to do podcasting too… but I need to work on sounding less froggy. Great work, keep it up, I really like it a lot. And thanks for the book! I am excited to know I will be reading it soon. Don’t forget to sign it so ten years from now, I can make some money off it when you become famous.. LOL!!!
No problem Garry! I am pretty excited about it myself.. It was a lot of fun to write and if all goes well, I am going to continue writing about all the different kinds of new media!
