LinkDump – 3/4/07

Some interesting things going on this weekend.

There is the most complete niche search engine list ever published at readwriteweb.com.

A story about Random House and HarperCollins entering into the 2.0 era by letting Myspace users publish actual book pages to their sites.  Both publishers are trying to update their business models with trends fitting younger readers.

And then there is an article on Homeland Security giving details on Real ID.  This is an area that I am utterly clueless about.  I haven’t heard anything about implementing a national ID card, let alone one with RFID tags in them!  We won’t be any better off than Walmart merchandise!

Web Worker Daily has a great article about workstreaming; or the practice of letting clients and colleagues know what you are doing through RSS feeds.

Check out some of the articles and let me know what you think!

I am particularly interested in the RealID cards.  Has anyone heard of them?

Two interesting reads that explain more about this… seems a little freaky to me. I honestly have mixed emotions about it. I don’t like to be bagged and tagged, but I also want to be safe too. I don’t pay too much attention to the government because I think pretty much it’s all corrupt and rigged. I keep my political views reserved on the Internet because I don’t have much knowledge with it. I guess the Bush Administration is mandating this, which whatever… I can see a million and one other things that can be done to help increase security… That’s all I really want to say on that topic.

I hear you there Garry! I am pretty non political myself. I think that I will save that area of my life for when I am old and can complain more :0)
