A Young Entrepreneur’s Financials

Posted by: Jason Drohn In: business

One of the most important things you can do in life is maintain a good credit rating. You see it time and time again on late night TV with infomercials and credit repair systems.

The fact of the matter is, loans are granted from an application which has one imminent field - your current salary. And business loans are usually given based on individual credit ratings, initially.

If you are operating a startup, or your own business, it is rare that you can fill the salary field in. Most of the time, your first year or so doesn’t yield any pay, and if it does, it’s sparatic.

When I started Tech Solution, there were times when I didn’t get paid for months. I was either in the middle of a big job, or I didn’t have any work.

If your personal credit record is something a little less than spectactular, there are way to go about getting Bad Credit Loans and Debt Consolidation. A good budget has never been more important!

A young entrepreneur also needs to learn how to keep their books. Whether that involves hiring an accountant or learning how to do it yourself, the cash flowing through the business is imperative.

A lot of times to get a loan from a bank, you will need to sit down with someone and comb over the last couple years of tax refunds. Especially if the business doesn’t have any credit. Make sure you keep these on file!

Money management is the key to any business. After all, starting a company is about making money. But sometimes being an innovator right out of college has it’s drawbacks. It is important to know that you won’t be able to just march into a bank and demand a business loan if your personal history isn’t on par!
