One of the unfortunate things about being an entrepreneur is time does not equal money.
You don’t put in an hour of work for $15 dollars. You might work for an hour, and make only $2! Hence, entrepreneurs working long days.
The reverse is also true. Entrepreneurs hit a point where they might work 8 hours days, and make $500-600. It is all in how long the company has been running and how successful it is.
One of the hardest things to understand is that startup companies are very, very, very time consuming. Making sure everything is perfect. Getting that last graphic to look just right. Making the pages a little bit more legible. It isn’t a perfect science, and can’t be treated that way. The only option is to tweak, and tweaking takes time.
This is a more of a public outburst than anything else. I spent most of Saturday dodging Chelsey who was more than a little pissed off that I was in front of a computer for most of the day. She simply doesn’t understand that it takes time to build things. Especially if you are looking for these things to be the least bit profitable.
One day, I will have a ‘lights-out operation.’ Or one that requires very little input from me. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case right now. Your business is as successful as you want it to be, but all that takes time. In the end, it will be a successful venture and you develop one hell of a work ethic.
I just don’t want to blow off the difficulty of being a young entrepreneur.
