23 Online Press Release Websites - Free and Paid

One of the best, cheapest, and most common ways to launch startups or new services online is to write press releases. Where do you think magazines and newspapers get their information? TechCrunch.com, the WSJ, CNN, all use press releases to some degree everyday.

There are quite a few services that offer free PR, some more reputable than others. On the other hand, some PR sites have a cost, but they typically have a wider audience and market through a number of channels (email, rss, etc.)

I haven’t used all of these services, but I have dabbled with the free ones a bit. The way I look at it, any publicity is good publicity. It might be worth your time to look through some of the paid services as well. If they seem a good fit, try them out!
