A Trick To Shorten Meetings

Posted by: Jason Drohn In: entrepreneur tip

I hate meetings.  I always have.  Here’s a trick to shorten them.

“Remove all chairs from the conference room, lower the temperature to approximately 62 degrees, and don’t allow the air to get stale.  You will see that standup meetings take about half the time as sit down meetings.”

And they are more productive…

Reminds me to Maria Theresia, Empress of Austria in ancient, pre-electric times: When she has invited guests but didn’t feel to meet them, she ordered her servants only to lit the lusters with very short candles. Because the candles couldn’t be changed in a short time (the lusters have been very, very huge), the invitation ended, when the candles have burnt down.
The idea is good. I think you can this also use for private invitation, if you don’t like the guests very much - not the thing with the chairs, but the low temperature in the room. And then serve only cold beverages….Ha ha!
