Growth comes from change

Posted by: Jason Drohn In: business building 101

I took a short vacation to the middle of nowhere this past weekend. Armed with a couple of new books, a pad, and paper; I started doing some off the wall stuff like writing a personal mission statement, writing down my goals for the next couple years, and so on. It was a very productive weekend to say the least.

On the way down, I was listening to the audiobook version of ‘Never Eat Alone’ which is an amazing read. In fact, it is going to be my book of the month whenever I get in front of a computer to do the giveaway, but anyway…

In the book Keith Ferrazi says “Growth only comes from change.” This rings so true in both business and life. The only way to grow is to change. Whether its a new product or a new initiative, change is what helps you break out of a rut, get into new territory, or further strengthen your success..

sorry for posting so many comments but i really had to go thru all your articles because so far i’m finding this blog quite interesting.. i’m posting because i want to caution you about something.. probably, it doesn’t apply to you, but just to share an experience.. about two year ago, i too had set myself a lot of goals and i was spending most of my time reading motivational ebooks and tapes… doing everything from writing personal mission statements using steven covey’s software, to learning 21 tips on everything from brian tracy, etc.. initially, it was fun and i must agree that it benefited me somewhat too but like they say.. excess of anything is just bad.. and i guessed i pushed myself a little over the top that soon i crossed into the burnout territory and it turned everything around by 180 that i started hating the one thing i loved doing most.. umm, did i bore you already? :) anyway, long story short, call it an epiphany or whatever but it took some serious rethinking that somethings in life are best left happy-go-lucky and goals should be very short term and your list be small. ok, time to get off the soapbox now..

anyway, keep writing your wonderful blog.. you have a new subscriber!
