Double Your Online Businesses Exposure Capabilities: Part 1

Posted by: eb.arts In: Internet Marketing| business building 101

When it comes to online business, exposure is half the battle.  I mean, how can anyone purchase your product if they don’t even know you exist?  And how do you get exposure and traffic?  By making yourself as available and appealing as possible.

In this three part series, I am going to focus on how to take an existing online business or a start-up and double your exposure with no additional hosting to secure, easy to maintain web structure, and almost no cost.  And I am going to show you how to do in very little time with very little work.

In today’s world, many have already caught on to the fact that the key to most online businesses is relevant, current, and frequently updated content that possesses a certain quality and flair.  Most people are online for a specific reason; they have a problem.  And your job is to help them solve that problem.

Whether it is through a product or service, most online business owners are attempting to solve a problem for potential customers.  The problem is that with so much free information available online, people don’t always want to have to pay for a solution.  This is where content comes in.  If all you have is a store with mostly static content other than new products and a little attention grabber on the home page, then you are about six to ten years behind the times.

What Makes The Greats…Well Great?

The reason MySpace and YouTube are some of the hottest sites on the net is that they provide content (and it’s in a social aspect, another key) in large quantities and a variety of topics and media types…for free.  That is the key, no one is going to pay to get content that they can find for free.  You need to provide them with regular content that is relevant to your business.

An example would be someone who has a business selling hemp and wire jewelry; they can provide content to their customers about techniques for hemp tying, how to determine quality beads, news about the industry, etc.  This keeps your customers coming back for more.

From there you want to entice them into new products or services and ultimately to a subscription or something that will create a constant stream of revenue.

Get Set Up

Some of you may be asking yourselves, “That’s great, but my current site isn’t set up to provide frequently updated content easily.  What can I do without putting up an entire new hosting account and building a whole new site?”  Others of you may be saying, “I’m glad I’m reading this now so I don’t have to ask that question.”

The key is an open source program called WordPress.  Some of you may be familiar with WordPress; others may already be using it.  If you are using it great, but I still have some tips for you that may help.  Those of you who have asked questions like the one above, read on, I’m going to answer your questions hopefully.

So here you sit, you either have an existing site or you are wanting to put one up.  If you need a hosting account, I recommend you go to SiteGround.com.  They are they number one rated hosting firm for WordPress accounts, their prices are good, and they use a variety of tools to aid in installations (ie: cPanel, Fantastico).  If you already have a hosting account, check with the company you host with and make sure their servers are WordPress friendly.  If they are, great!  If not, still visit SiteGround.com and look at their options for switching your hosting account.  Again, there service is outstanding.

Now you have what you need to get started.
