Last week, a buddy told me about Amazon Wireless and how he used it to order his family all new cell phones… Frankly, I was pretty excited to give it a try! It seems like a get a package from Amazon once every few weeks, why should my cell phones be any different?!
So, I thought I’d take a minute and post a quick Amazon Wireless review and talk about my experiences a little bit…
Amazon Wireless Review – What Is Amazon Wireless?
Amazon Wireless offers:
- cell phones
- service plans
- easy rebate redemption
- comparison shopping features
- free two day shipping
Right now, Amazon Wireless has 3 providers: Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T. Sprint is going to be jumping on board soon (or so I’ve read).
Amazon Wireless Review – What I Like
There are a couple things I really like about Amazon Wireless. First and foremost, wireless plans are getting increasingly complicated and expensive. Now, there’s data packages and apps, as well as the normal ‘minutes.’ On the new smartphones, there are a tons of different options for communicating. Amazon Wireless has done a good job of teaching people about these options, how to use them, and what costs can be incurred by each.
My family has had smartphones for quite a while now. I remember the first time I get everyone signed up, my bill ballooned from like $70 a month to $230 a month! Changes to the bill aren’t as easy as they used to be and it’s next to impossible to add or delete a feature. The physical locations of these wireless carriers are always so packed… So it’s nice to have a collective location online where I can manage my plan.
Amazon Wireless Review – What I Don’t Like
There isn’t much I don’t like about Amazon Wireless. I guess as of right now, some of the newer phones are on backorder, which is to be expected. A couple of my friends have said that they ordered and had to wait a few days for the phone. Not a big deal for me but it might be fore you.
Amazon Wireless Review – Other Thoughts
Right now, Amazon Wireless has over 100 phones showcased on the site. More models are constantly added. They have the newest releases and the older phones that aren’t physically offered in the stores anymore – which is nice for the aging demographic who have come to know their phone and don’t want to completely upgrade!
I like the fact that you can search by carrier, color, brand, price or feature set. That’s nice for people who have specifically decided that they want certain features.
Like Amazon.com, there are all kinds of suggested products, a pretty easy shopping cart, bestseller lists, good product descriptions and lots of videos for the product and features.
Probably the best thing is the step by step sign up or upgrade process. Amazon Wireless really has done their best to streamline the process and make it as easy as possible for first time customers. They’ve also totally cut out all the technical jargon and frustrating rebate paperwork.
Amazon Wireless Review: Final Thoughts
The best part about Amazon Wireless is the ease of use. It doesn’t matter whether you’re thinking about adding a line or upgrading your Blackberry – you’ll find what your looking for at the new site. I highly recommend it!
